Records come from the Grundbuch.

Germany's Grundbuch (land register, run by the local Amtsgericht) records ownership, mortgages and charges. Access is restricted: a requester must show a berechtigtes Interesse (legitimate interest).

Access: Germany does not have an open register — you must demonstrate legitimate interest (a contract, a claim, a transaction). A foreign requester usually works through a German agent or notary who can evidence the interest.
